Question for Moms of 2 or more - did anyone NOT get a double stroller?
DD will be 23 months when arrives in June. Did anyone find that they didn't need a stroller for a baby and a toddler? I am thinking for mall type shopping I am going to need her in one though since she is a runner but I can already imagine the fights to get her to stay in it since she is Little Miss Independent

I bought a used one at our church sale.
I'll be honest. Your daughter has a mind of her own. While it's going to be great when peer pressure kicks in during her teens, during the toddler years, you need a double stroller.
Joseph was not a runner. But at 2 years old, he was throwing himself on the floor. I needed to put Maddie into a stroller & then strap Joseph down into a 5 point harness.
Later when he was 3-4 years old, we used the single stroller that he could ride on the back. Even then we had complaints about why she got the seat (and later from her about why she couldn't ride in the back even though she didn't have a good enough grip to stay on).

Alex will be close to 4 when the baby arrives - I'm not getting a double stroller. I'll "consider" a sit and stand stroller when the baby arrives, depending on Alex's needs. Right now though she rarely, if never, uses a stroller so I can't see it being practical for us.

My kids are about the same age difference as yours - I didn't get a double stroller but instead got the sit and stand. Honestly I have only used it a handful of time. But my kids are born in October so we didn't really use it right away as we didn't go many places in the winter.

DD will be 3 in May and the two kiddos are 2 1/2 years apart. DD#2 arrived in November so I didn't really need anything for the winter. I was going back and forth with the Sit n Stand Deluxe vs. the regular Sit n Stand and wound up buying the regular one a couple weeks ago. It's perfect for us and I don't see myself buying anything else...

I think at Victoria's age you should def. get some sort of double stroller. Think about shopping trips....BRU, food shopping, just running into places. You will eventually have the baby in the cart - and then have to worry about Victoria running free.
It's better to have them both on lockdown! Makes your life easier!

Re: Question for Moms of 2 or more - did anyone NOT get a double stroller?
I have a double (Bumbleride Indie Twin)- Ella was also 23 months when Erik was born, and she likes her strolls.
We were just in Europe for 2 months, and I only brought a single. She's now almost 3 but there were plenty of times Ella didn't want to be walking or having her walk was just too slow. I often had her sitting on top of the stroller or in the stroller while Erik was in a sling (I was by myself with the 2 of them a lot).
The stroller I brought (Micralite Toro) was great in that Ella could sit on top -not that its intended for that (and she's a lightweight) but it was a lifesaver. If you're not going the double route, it may be something to consider.
(here she is feeding Erik gelato)

Re: Question for Moms of 2 or more - did anyone NOT get a double stroller?
were debating this too.. havent gotten one yet, b/c If we do get one I want the running side by side stroller one.. and those you can't put an infanct car seat in. But my oldest is like yours.. I cant even get her to sit in a shopping cart.. she wants to walk on her own now... so not sure if its even worth gettting.. but then I think.. the days I go out by myself with both, I will need it b/c i cant have a toddler walking on her own and chasing her with stroller.

Re: Question for Moms of 2 or more - did anyone NOT get a double stroller?
My boys are 27 months apart and I was debating it for a while, but as soon as the weather warmed up I decided to take the plunge and get one. It makes it easy when I want to take walks, go to the mall, etc. My oldest was about 29 months when I got it and he is now a few months over 3 and still goes in it and he is/was a runner.

Re: Question for Moms of 2 or more - did anyone NOT get a double stroller?
Well mine will be 23 months apart. I got two - even though DD wants to walk a lot of the time - I know that it won't always be feasible and that I will need the stroller esp for longer days or shopping trips where she can't be running around.
I got two for different purposes. I got the bumbleride indie twin - which is also a jogger - and it DOES take an infant seat so you can use that right off the bat. I got it for walks in the neighborhood, trips to the park, zoo etc. I know DD will get tired at some point and want to ride eventually.
For shopping and quicker things I got the deluxe sit and stand from One step ahead. I love this one and can't wait to use it. It has 2 seats so you can use it as a double stroller - but the rear seat is removable so that when you are ready you can use it as a sit and stand - so it grows with them.
Personally as someone with a highly spirited child who wants to run everywhere I couldn't imagine not having a double b.c there are times you can't chase the older one and push the baby. I already have singles strollers so I can always pull those out when I am going somewhere that I don't need a double but at least I have those choices.

DS was 25 months when DD was born. We got the sit n stand deluxe which has two seats now and will convert to the sit n stand. I use it often enough. But I also use the single stroller while DS holds the handle with me. It depends on what we are doing and where we are going.

Re: Question for Moms of 2 or more - did anyone NOT get a double stroller?
I didn't--well, not really. I did buy the Sit and Stand, but honestly, I've rarely used it...walks to the park and around the neighborhood is about it. Even then, I haven't used it in about a year. My DDs are 20 mos. apart and I trained DD#1 to walk holding onto the stroller at places like CVS and like that.
Now, if I were having another right now while my younger DD is just about two...I'm not sure what I would do. This kid is WILD!

Mine are exactly 2 years apart. You witnessed first hand how Lauren will just wander away My sit and stand was a lifesaver. I used it for more than 2 years, and still have it, just in case.

Re: Question for Moms of 2 or more - did anyone NOT get a double stroller?
My DD will be 2.5 when arrives and I am planning on getting a double jogger and a sit and stand. Now, at 27 months she still has to go in her stroller if we go to the mall or to my doctor's appointments.
Honestly, when I am by myself I am not going to go running after her so while she would prefer to walk she does not get to make that decision. It will definitely make my life much easier to have a double stroller and make me more mobile.

This is my one worry with Victoria. She will just go without a care in the world like Lauren (okay, I'm hoping a little calmer like Lauren by the time comes ) She breaks away fast - I'm already struggling to keep up with her!

Re: Question for Moms of 2 or more - did anyone NOT get a double stroller?
If my kids had been 2 yrs apart I would have totally bought one!! At 2 yr or so, my DS was not ready to be trusted just walking with me. And he was still willing to sit in the stroller... that's a big factor.
But my two are 3 yrs apart, and now at 3, it's very different: DS is so much better at staying with me when we walk, either holding my hand when its just us, or holding the stroller when DD is there. And he refuses to sit in a stroller anyway.
