Question for moms that take birth control pills ......

i have just started to take them i have never taken them before and i just got my 1st period since the birth of DD


it has been 6 days and i am still bleeding pretty heavily ( sorry TMI ) i am also feeling extremly tired and very very overwelved and am being so short tempered and snappy

i also have had the worst migrain for the last 2 days could all this be related to the pill ???????

my doc says to stick with it for at least a couple of months but i feel so terible right now does it get better over time ???

also since i have only started to take it since sunday would it make me feel this way so quickly ????

thankyou for any advice you have i feel like im lossing my mind at the moment ..

Yes unfortunately its normal and can take up to 3 months for things to adjust.

I dont take the pill, I use the Nuvaring which is a great BC with not so many side effects.

Stick it out as best as you can and then decide if you need to switch.

Keep in mind, you have been dealing with a sick baby and have a little added stress on you right now.

I'm not sure if it could happen that quickly, it could. BUT, I would think it would be more related to having a sick baby at home, not sleeping and the stress of all that. Stress ALWAYS gives me a headache and makes me short tempered. Stress can also affect your cycle...

I think I had spotting the entire first month back on the pill, and AF came before I finished the active pills. It took 2 months to get normal again. Your hormones are still probably out of whack from having a baby.
