Question for Moms with older children
From birth to now, when would you say your easiest time with DC was and when was your hardest or most demanding?

Re: Question for Moms with older children
I have to say my 11yr old is awesome...she is very helpful with the little ones and she is self sufficient she helps me fold laundry and she keeps an eye on the baby when I am cooking dinner etc she can have a little attitude on occassion but nothing major she has ALWAYS been a mellow easy going child though
my 6yr old has always been a handful you cant just get tell her how to do her hair or what to wear its always a battle
sometimes I think it depends on the child not the age

Re: Question for Moms with older children
I too think it depends on the child and not the age. My oldest, who is 10, has always been pretty easy (although lately the whole tween eye rolling thing seems to be beginning). However, my youngest, who just turned 5, has been a handful from day one (or as I like to say from the time the sperm hit the egg ) Although, if I had to pin down the most difficult time with her, it was probably from 18 months to 2.5.

Re: Question for Moms with older children
for us it was the very beggining colic that was the hardest. Bryan is 2.5 now and I can def say that was the hardest.

I think there are things that make each age easier or harder.

Re: Question for Moms with older children
My 6 year old is just now starting to get a smart mouth and is trying to 'challenge' my authority in little obnoxious ways. Before now (this started about 3 months ago) he was the sweetest, most mellow and easy going kid around.
My 4 year old has been a challenge from the word go. He is FINALLY coming out of the tantrums that he started throwing at around 2.5 - but he is still a very loud and aggressive kid.
I think it really depends on the kid!

Re: Question for Moms with older children
i agree with the "it depends on the kid" .. i have a 9 year old who for the most part has always been an easy kid.. a 6 year old who has never been easy.. from colic infant to terrible twos and terrible threes to 4 and 5 year old nightmare.. now that he is almost 6 he is getting a little better.. and i have a 2 year old who is an angel.. never anything bad. oh and a 16 year old stepdaughter

Re: Question for Moms with older children
So for those with "easier" kids - what was your biggest challenge with them? Teething, colic, molars?

Re: Question for Moms with older children
My son is 2 and the HARDEST and WORST time was the first six months. It was awful, horrible, terrible...I hated it. I wouldn't do that again with this kid. Once he hit about 6 months, we got him into his own room, did controlled crying (CIO) and our lives changed....
