question for people who know things about gardening
because I'm basically clueless. I planted a bunch of stuff last year and now I notice new growth coming up under the old dead stuff. Am I supposed to remove the dead stuff or just leave it? I'm talking pretty thick branches, not some wilted leaves.
Thanks!

Re: question for people who know things about gardening
I'm not removing my leaf mulch yet because there is still a chance of frost/snow for a few more weeks yet. Leaving them will not hurt the plant. I don't think taking them away will be THAT detrimental to new growth, but I like to think that every little bit counts.
Anything that is coming up this early is probably pretty hardy anyway.
