Re: Question for the 35 and over Moms or Moms-to-be
My SIL got pregnant pretty quickly at 39, zero issues. We started trying when I was 28 - it took us 9 months and we started fertility drugs before I got my BFP - so truly, you just never know as age isn't everything.

Re: Question for the 35 and over Moms or Moms-to-be
I got pregnant with my DD on our first month of trying when I was 33. . . but I had been using Ovulation Predictor Sticks for 5 months previously (to get a sense of whether I was regularly ovulating or not). I cut out sugar, caffeine and alchohol and meditated (kind of like what the author of The Secret suggests), visualizing a pregnancy and a healthy baby. I was a little neurotic about it because I had a history of ovarian cysts and had been on birth control pills for around 9 years or so. We also were only giving ourselves 2 months to get pregnant because I needed to have a spring/early summer baby (at the time I was a visiting professor at a university and wouldnt have maternity leave).
At 36 we decided to start trying for another baby. I hadnt used any ovulation kits, but I had been paying attention to my cycle and knew when I was ovulating. We got pregnant on the first try again and are having twins.
Women over 35 are more likely to have twins because they can ovulate irregularly and release more than one egg. Twins run in my family in a major way - but I also think my age had something to do with it.
I'm a total "research the hell out of something" kind of person. I'd explore a number of options regarding fertility, getting pregnant, alternative treatments (acupuncture), medical procedures (fertility drugs, IVF, etc.)
Lots and Lots and Lots of to you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Question for the 35 and over Moms or Moms-to-be
Started charting my cycles in July 2006 . We started "trying" in September 2006, got a BFP and had DD#1 that June (I had just turned 34 two weeks before).
We started trying again when DD was 5 months old and got pregnant when she was 8 months old. We had my second DD in November 2008 (I was 35).
We again started trying in August 2009. I got a BFP that month, but had an early loss, got a BFP the next month and lost that. Then finally got a BFP in November 2009 and this one stuck.
I will have just turned 37 a month before our is born.

OMG, thank you all so much for all your stories and advise. I knew I came to the right place for positive feedback. ok it wasn't all positive feedback, but the big point is....get over my fears and just start trying, stay postive, less stress the better, excerise, eat well.....if all of this doesn't work then I know to not waste too many months trying. Get myself back to my OB and get some tests done. Thank you ladies.....all of you.

Re: Question for the 35 and over Moms or Moms-to-be
I'm 37, when I was 33 I got pregnant with my son on the second try, when I was 36 I got pregnant on the first try, but miscarried, and two months later I got pregnant again on our first try.
