Question for the guys regarding Broadway shows..
I want to get tickets to see Phantom of the Opera for John and I. He's never seen a broadway show but seems open to the idea.
Would you A.) Be interested in seeing a broadway show? and B.) Be interested in Phantom? I don't want to make him sit thorugh something he'll really not be into

I'm not a boy...but...
DH really liked Sweeney Todd and The Producers. We haven't seen Phantom together (I've seen it). My friend (who is a guy) loves Les Miz.

Mine isn't a broadway guy either, but he LOVED Rent and Wicked. Fell asleep in Phantom, 42nd Street, and something else...

Re: Question for the guys regarding Broadway shows..
when i took a girl to phantom - i was in college and trying to get laid by doing so, so i may not be the best judge
but in all seriousness - i love broadway shows and we go regularly.
phantom was great if he's a romantic. I tend to like plays that have a good balance between acting and music, rather than all music, which is what phantom is
wicked was excellent - had a good story in addition to the music
same with jekyll and hyde
how about something with more of a comic overtone like the drowsy chaperone or that show based on monty python whose name escapes me.
word to the wise sharon - john looks in the pics like he's a big dude. Speaking as a big dude, get a seat for him on the aisle. They don't make seats in broadway theaters for big people, so if he's in the middle of a row - he'll be smooshed

Re: Question for the guys regarding Broadway shows..
Good point, Don....side note: the seats at Wicked were the largest, most comfy Broadway seats EVER! I was swimming in it, and I'm no small chick.

Re: Question for the guys regarding Broadway shows..
DH likes musicals, but not serious mushy stuff.
I would go for something like Wicked or The Producers, maybe Jersey Boys.

Spamalot would be a better choice IMO. Phantom is more girly

Re: Question for the guys regarding Broadway shows..
Spamalot was hysterical and if he is a fan of Monty Python he will enjoy it.
We've seen a handful of shows, I don't think Dh is a huge b'way fan, but knows that I am and so he'll go.

Re: Question for the guys regarding Broadway shows..
I would have to vote for a Broadway show. I saw Wicked and thought it was really good. I saw movin out right before it closed. It was a great show as well. I wouldn't complain if I had to see a good broadway show such as rent. I think you need to keep the guys interested. Lots of Shiny things or deaths and explosions. Haahahaha

Re: Question for the guys regarding Broadway shows..
My DH LOVED Phantom. Everytime we argue over which movie to watch, he wants to pop that one in. He loves the musical more!
It's really a great show. Guys dig the fact that the dude has a screwed up face.. Nevermind the opra-esque portion of the show..
