Question for those with dishwashers...

We are in the middle of remodeling the kitchen and we were going to wait to get a new dishwasher as things are getting expensive. But I'm not sure our old one is really working that great.

Does your dishwasher ever leave any food on the dishes and cutlery? We always have a problem with peanut butter, oatmeal and dried egg. I don't know if it's because the dishwasher is old or these things never come off. Also, sometimes we find some undisolved dish soap on the dishes - not all the dishes, just a couple each wash.

Do I need a new dishwasher?

Re: Question for those with dishwashers...

The only thing I have a problem with is the dried egg also.. usually on the large kitchen utensils. Our dishwasher is about 8 years old.. Im sure a new one wouldnt do that but Im not ready to spend the money on a new one yet.

I would say yours is probably ready to be replaced.. but thats by my standards. FH would say Im crazy and just put everything through another cycle Chat Icon

Re: Question for those with dishwashers...

We rinse our dishes before placing them in the dishwasher. When we see water spots, or things coming out unclean, we put in more Jet Dry into the system and that seems to do the trick.

I do a a little rinse before if it's something sticky. With utensils, I have a glass in the sink with water. I let them soak in the glass before I'm ready to run the dishwasher and I have to say, even Peanut Butter comes off.

Re: Question for those with dishwashers...

Our dishwasher is over 8 years old, we never pre-rinse (that's the whole idea of having a dishwasher...), and we rarely have anything stuck on the dishes. Only baked-on stuff that is hard to even scrape off.
