Question for vegetarians...
I hadn’t eaten any meat/chicken since Friday night until just now. I didn't do it on purpose, it just turned out that way. I have been feeling very sluggish for the past few days.
I just had a turkey sandwich and feel invigorated
when you first became a vegetarian, were you tired all the time? Just trying to see if there is a connection.

Re: Question for vegetarians...
It does make sense, there are lots of vitamins you miss out on in meat. you need to have a carefully balanced diet to be a healthy vegetarian.

Re: Question for vegetarians...
If I am not eating enough protein (beans, soy, etc), then I do feel sluggish. As another poster has said, I've been a veggie for so long, I can't remember how I felt when I made the switch.

Re: Question for vegetarians...
if you had enough protein in your diet I bet you wouldn't have noticed.
Beans, legumes, tofu...some vegetarians eat fish..some pastas are enriched with protein, dairy has lots of protein...

Re: Question for vegetarians...
I didn't feel tired all the time when I became vegetarian. A lot of people I know felt a lot more energized when they became vegetarian. My DH had some health problems he attributed to the lack of meat in his diet and has begun to incorporate poultry and fish into his diet as a result. He says it makes him feel better. Different things work for different people. Also, were you eating poorly the last few days? As a vegetarian, I find it's very important to eat the right foods (lots of fresh fruits and veggies, not too much junk food) to keep myself feeling good. In my mind, it's all about eating foods that are good for you, that help your body work, regardless if they're from animal or plant sources.

That'll do it. Eating poorly makes your body function poorly. Hope you're eating and feeling better soon!
