I think since in this sentence dress is a verb, it needs an adverb like warmly.

Thats what I thought - darn - my stepmom was right when I told her the baby was dressed warm - she corrected me with warmly, and I was an english major in college!!!

I think if the adjective is describing a verb, not a noun, it becomes an adverb and you add ly.
Like She is a nice dancer vs. She dances nicely.

dress warmly, but i would compare it to feel bad for someone/feel badly...i think we kind of use the feel bad for someone/dress warm as slang even though it isn't proper!

Technically "warmly" would be correct, b/c warm is an adjective.
But I see it with two different meanings, but that is just me.
If you look at "dress warm today" it kind of implies to dress with warm clothes today. You just wouldn't say all that. JMO.
