question re: bed rest
Just curious as to why the doctor puts you on bed rest. How far long were you and how long did you have to be on bed rest for?

I was put on bedrest at almost 36 weeks for high BP and severe swelling. I was on bedrest for the remainder of the pregnancy. I was induced at 38 weeks b/c of the high BP.

I was put on at 32 weeks for low amniotic fluid...I remained on until I gave birth at 39 weeks, though he did let me modify it slightly as long as my levels didn't go any lower.

I have been on bedrest since 28 weeks and I amt about 35 weeks. I had pre-e withmy first son and seemed to showing some signs that it was returning. I think I will be here until I deliver at 39 weeks.

I have been on Bed rest since 17 weeks, and im 21 weeks now, and will remain on bedrest for a while, i cant go back to work until after the baby is born. I was put on bedrest for a shortening of the cervix, and i had a cerclage placed.

For DS I was on strict left side only bedrest from I think week 33 to 39 when I had DS. It was mid June and I had DS on 8/1. I had preeclampsia.

Same here. 32 weeks until 37 weeks when my Ob induced me b/c my levels were dangerously low.

My SIL is in the hospital right now on strict bed-rest. She was admitted this week at 29 weeks for contractions and 1-inch dilation with her twins. They haven't been able to stop the contractions yet really.......they remain off and on and her cervix also shortened. They are going to try to get her to 32 weeks and then do an emergency C-section.

I will be going on bedrest at 20 weeks due to incompentent cervix. We lost our son last year because of this.
I had a cerclage placed at 13 weeks and will be on strict bedrest from 20 to 32 weeks minimum....
The idea is to prevent the pressure of the baby on the cervix so the cerclage doesn't tear....

I was on home bedrest since January 2nd due to a shortened and funneling cervix....then put on strict hospital bedrest due to pre-eclampsia on Feb. 16th (33 weeks). I have a scheduled c-section on March 4th, at 36 weeks, if I can make it that long....
