Question re HCG Levels at 5 weeks
So I just spoke with the nurse at the drs office and she told me my HCG was over 9000, which she said is good, and asked if I was scheduled for retest at 48 hrs, which I am not. I am a tad bit concerned... first off, should I have been scheduled for a followup blood test??? And second, after googling 9000 HCG levels some seem to think thats too high?? I know I shouldnt rely on google rather than my dr, but I always do more research

Re: Question re HCG Levels at 5 weeks
i wouldn't be concerned that they aren't retesting, some docs don't even check the numbers at all. (mine didn't with this pg)
If they were concerned they would have retested you...
CONGRATS and don't worry!

Thank you!!! its only the 2nd time I saw this dr , he was recommended by a friend, so I just want to make sure hes covering all bases. I did m/c before so its so hard not to worry.

Re: Question re HCG Levels at 5 weeks
My doctor did the blood test 2 times, just to see if te number was going up (doubling every 2-3 days).

Re: Question re HCG Levels at 5 weeks
that is a very high number but everyone is different. at 4weeks 2 days, my HCG was 151 I only had one blood test, they felt it was a good number for 4weeks and felt no need to retest!

Re: Question re HCG Levels at 5 weeks
Well my number was 57 (yes, fifty seven) at 3w4d and they didn't ask me to come back to re-test. They just had me come in a couple of weeks later for my first appointment.
