Question.. Real World Inspired

Do you think that the producers of the show had to ask for Danny's permission for use of that phone call.. Also next week it seems as if the cameras go back with him.. would you have allowed them to use this footage, or LEFT so that that was it and all they had? Reality TV is one thing, this is borderline twisted in a way to watch.. something that should be ALLOWED for him do do privately.

my guess is that they have signed a contract that allows everything to be taped during the duration of the filming. whether its right or wrong, thats a different story.

ETA: i also think the producers of the show know that the appeal of it is that we see what goes on personally with all of the castmates, you know? again, maybe not sensitive to them, but thats what the show is.

It's probably in their contracts that no matter what happens MTV is allowed to film.

I remember watching some behind the scenes special and they said that the ONLY time they EVER stopped filming was during the Chicago season when September 11th happened.

That being said, I think that if they are decent and moral, they will NOT follow to the funeral or continue taping him at home and/or they do get his and his families' permission.

Having a camera crew at the funeral would be a bit much IMO..

I agree that it's part of the deal he made with MTV...everything gets taped. I remember they followed Elka to her mother's gravesite the first time she visited it after the funeral. And they showed Joe from Miami in a class at NYU.

I wonder if no one from Danny's family agreed to allow their image on screen if MTV would bother showing any of it?

I think everything that happens at the house is up for grabs.
\Going to his home i am sure they asked him. I do not think they can just do that...It is more of an infringement on other people...I am sure they had to get the families permission on that

I remember an interview with Seattle Lindsey and how she was upset when her friend Bill committed suicide and she got the call. They aired the whole call and her flipping, but no funeral scene.

All calls are taped & can be aired. That is in their contracts. Thet's why they jsut have that oen phoen int hat one room.

They used to let them go home & they woudl follow thme ( liek when Dom in LA when home to Ireland to vist i his sick father) , but in Seatle, Frankie wanted to leave & come back & they said no. Now, I dont' kwo if t ha tis b'c she didnt' want the camera's follwoign her if she wnet home, or what.

Maybe that is the rule, if you go home & want to come back, you are still on the show, so the cameras still follow you. As for the funeral, they would have to get permission form the funeral director, priest, etc, so they may not be abel to film it.

I got the sense that he didn't even care about the camras, there was so much else going on.

I think I might be the same way.
