Question regarding factor V Leiden and mther blood disorder..

So I just found out that I have both of these blood clotting disorders and my gyno is sending me to a hemotologist, genetic counseling and possibly a fertility specialist??? I understand the hemotologist and I guess even the genetic testing but why the fertility specialist ...I got pregnant both previous pregnancies on the first try????? I got so much info at once I didn't get a chance to ask.....any info would be helpful...TIA

Both of these disorders can cause m/c, and blood clots. Your Dr. might be sending you to an RE so you can be monitored properly in the early stages of your next pregnancy. I also have them and need to be on Lovenox (injectible blood thinner) when I am in the TWW.

I'm sorry I am not familiar with those issues. I just wanted to wish you the best of luck and refer Dr. B, he specializes in immune and recurrent losses, he is an excellent doc and very caring.Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

I agree with this! I have MTHFR and Annexin and on Lovenox. I have had two past miscarriages, so I started the Lovenox 2 days after ovulation and was monitored by a RE. I had no problem getting pregnant with my previous losses but still went to a RE. They just closely watch over you and they no a lot more in regards to clotting disorders than a regular OBGYN.

Hope that helps!!!! Goodluck!

Please feel free to FM with any questions.
