Question regardng toddler/kids clothing sizes
What is the difference between 4T and kids 4? Is 5T necessary or do you go to kids 5? or is the order 3T,4T,5T then kids 4,5,6 etc?
I usually buy ahead a size or two in clothes when I find sales and am confused on what sizes would come next (hes in 3T now)

It's usually interchangable. I can tell you that it's definitely true for gymboree & Janie & Jack (essentially the same brand). DS does 3T from gymboree little kids collection & 3 from the boys collection. Both fit now.
The only thing that is an issue is that there is a size difference between brands (gap is the biggest example: I can't buy ahead there: my 2 year old is in a size 4T and my 3.5 yr old is in size 2T).

I notice a difference in lenght between the T size and regular. My 5yo the 5t is to short and 6 is too long but the 5 seems to work. It also depends on the brand

I think the T sizes just have more diaper room. So the regular sizes would be cut leaner for potty-trained kids in regular underwear.
