Questions about carseat & crib...
1/ With the snap and go - how easy is it to manuever your car seat? If I were to get a Britax Marathon and a Snap and Go, will I be able to lift and move the carseat, or will it be a PITA?
2/ With the crib, do you think the convertible crib is worth it? You'd still have to buy a twin bed right? You wouldn't be moving your child from infant to toddler to full, right?
Thanks!

Re: Questions about carseat & crib...
I don't know the answer to your first question, but for the second one:
We got the convertible crib so that we don't have to buy a twin bed.
We will go from the crib, to the toddler bed, to a full bed. A full bed isn't THAT much bigger than a twin.
Doing it this way saves us $ when the child goes to a regular size bed, and can keep all the furniture the same.

Re: Questions about carseat & crib...
The Britax Marathon is a car seat, NOT an infant seat which is what the snap n go is for (the infant seat) Your child will NOT be in the Marathon for some time.

Re: Questions about carseat & crib...
I don't believe the Britax Marathon will work in the Snap N Go. It isn't an infant car seat, but considered a convertible. You can use it from the beginning, but it isn't the type that is considered a carrier, so it stays in the car. You don't snap it into a stroller or carry the baby in it.
I got an infant carseat (specifically the Peg Pereggo) and also the convertible car seat for when the baby is bigger (22 lbs or 1 year).

It says from 5lbs, so I assume my child could be in it from birth, but it doesn't function as an infant carrier.

Ok, got it - thanks! So only the infant seats go in the snap n go - so if I use the Britax from birth, I need a regular stroller, not a snap n go.

I think you need to have an infant car set to leave the hospital, though I could be wrong about this.

you just need a carseat, it can be a convertible or an infant one

Re: Questions about carseat & crib...
Like a few of the posters above said, the snap & go is meant for infant carseats so the Britax won't work. You leave that one in the car and just remove the baby so you would need a different stroller.
We bought a convertible crib with the intention of being able to turn it into a bed once we are finished using it as a crib but that thas the big point with us...how many kids. We plan on having more than one so we will need a crib for each child and have to remember not to rush to convert it until we are done. But that means we still have to get a bed for DS once he is out of the crib since the next baby will have it.

Re: Questions about carseat & crib...
My only concern is how long does the toddler bed last? I can't imagine a 4 or 5 year old being in a full sized bed - DH & I just upgraded from that size last year

I don't see the problem with DC being in afull? It's a little bigger- less chance of rolling out....
As for the convertable- even though it SAYS 5 lbs, I have to say, the baby just *fits* better in the carrier. Also- car rides are like a sleeping pill to newborns- theyre out like a light once in the car-the LAST thing you want to do is wake the baby removing from the carseat. With the carrier, you can just remove the seat rather than unhook the baby.
Also- I LOVE my Snap and Go!!!

Well it just gives you the option to not to have to purchase a twin bed or all new furniture. You can totall buy a regular crib with furniture, but if you want the furniture to match a twin bed (if it is wood) in the future, it might not. That might cause you to buy even more furniture.
Then, the other option, is to just use the crib and that furniture for babies, and buy toddler furniture when you have another baby.
It is a matter of preference.

Re: Questions about carseat & crib...
I guess I just think of it as a security type of thing. I know my 3 yr old sister has trouble being out of her little bed and I always thought it was b/c she felt safe in the smaller bed. But, I guess it makes sense that there's less chance of falling out.

Re: Questions about carseat & crib...
We bought a convertible crib and we won't be buying a twin bed in between. I see no reason she can't sleep in a full size bed when she's done with the toddler bed.
