Questions about pro photos..

I want to do DD's 6 month photos. I'm looking into Sears/Target/JCPenney. I just don't have the $$ right now to do a photo shoot Chat Icon Hopefully for her first!
How much should I expect to spend? I know it depends on what you get..I'm thinking 1 or 2 8x10s, maybe 3 or 4 5X7s and then like 10-15 wallets.
I see good coupons and taget & sears websites, but I just don't understand what I'm getting for these prices.
Which place is better? I want different poses and maybe even an outfit change..
Please Help!
TIA!

Re: Questions about pro photos..

Thanks, I did just get a coupon from Picture people which is what made me think. But, it's for like 7 sheet of ONE pose and I want different ones. And I checked their pricing online and it was Chat Icon Chat Icon so I'm wondering if all places are like that?

I think your best bet would be to go to target. They have a coupon for $3.99 portraits sheets of as many poses as you want. You can get the coupon on their website.

Re: Questions about pro photos..

Sears will let you do an outfit change and the majority of their packages are for more than one pose. I take DD there for her Christmas & birthday pics and always do an outfit change b/c she is a December baby. The inexpensive Target packages are for one pose.

You should also look at Forever Fireflies. Her prices are very reasonable and her work is awesome. I take DD to her for pics in addition to Sears. I now have the number thing going with Sears or she would do 100% of DD's pics.

ETA: Ask Sears about the unpublished packages. They have one that is a set rate for 10 sheets that isn't advertised. You can pick 10 different poses if you wanted. They also have LOTS of coupons for things like free 10x14 portrait, or whatever.

Re: Questions about pro photos..

I had photos done at JC Penneys when DS was about 4.5 months old and was very happy with them.

We had 2 outfit changes plus ones where he was just had a cover over his diaper.

I was very happy with the way they came out. I used a coupon and I don't remember the exact number of photos I got, but I know we have a few framed at home, we both have framed photos in our offices, my parents have 1, his parents have another 1, both my gradmothers and both my sisters also got photos! It was a decent amount.

I paid about $60 total.

I've been to Target twice and both times I've just ordered a la carte with ridiculously cheap prices for each sheet.

We just had DS's done in August. I do just the bare minimum because I just like to have pics for the grandparents. They have asked me if I want to take his clothes off, if I have something else for him, what kind of props I would like, etc. This time we did some props more to try to keep DS busy than anything else. But I ended up ordering eight 5x7s and 16 wallets, plus I got an 8x10 for free for $23 (I had a half off coupon). We chose four different poses from the 13+ that they ended up taking (note - DS was NOT cooperating because he was a total squirmy wormy who just started to walk 2 weeks before!) They also send you an email link and you can order online for up to 90 days after your sitting.

FM me if you have any questions, I've been really really happy with them both times we went. Here are some examples - first two from first shoot at 5 months, second two from August at 13 months.

Re: Questions about pro photos..

Target did a great job on my girls a few times and we got a boatload of pics, different poses, backrounds and 2 outfits for $29Chat Icon We had a coupon for $3.99 sheets. It is a much better coupon than the package ones because it is very flexible. The cost before they took off the coupon was 90something dollars!

yep. I always do this. I love Target. I am always happy with the pics. I spend $3.99 a sheet..I can pick from any poses I want and order as many diff ones as I want and the coupon usually includes a free 8x10. No sitting fees. I always walk out for about $40 and get TONS of pics. usually a couple of 8x10's. a bunch of 5x7s and 3x5s and tons and tons of wallets. HTH

Wow - they wouldn't let me chose multiple poses when I had DD's first b-day pics done (so I went to Sears and had additional ones taken).

My girls pics were from South Setauket also and we did numerous backrounds and poses. Once we did an outfit change as well. They were awesome! They also did individual pics of the girls and together picsChat Icon
