Questions about Solid Food
Okay, I have more questions about solid food.
Once you open jarred baby food, how long does it keep before DC needs to eat it? I did not feed him out of the jar, just put some in a bowl.
When you are just starting out with a fruit or veggie how often do you feed that in one day? When I was feeding him oats and rice, I gave him 1 tbsp. twice a day. But I was wondering if carrotts (or other fruits or veggies) twice daily is too much.
Thank you!

Re: Questions about Solid Food
I feed dd earths best.. on the jar it says as long as you didnt put a dirty spoon in the jar, its good for 3 days. I try to use the same day or next after opening.
Fruit i give 3 times a day. breakfast with cereal, lunch, and dinner (desert).
Veg i give 2 times a day. Lunch and dinner.
I also gave fresh fruit in those mess nibbler bags as a snack during day.

Re: Questions about Solid Food
When I start a new food, I do it 2x in a day, so DS will get 1/2 the jar at lunch and 1/2 the jar at bedtime. So we use 1 full jar per day. However sometimes if he doesnt finish or if I dont give him the fruit/veggie at night I give it the next day. just keep in the fridge. Package says up to 2-3 days but I use it within 2.

Re: Questions about Solid Food
Thank you for the replies! My eyes are getting bad, I could not decipher the small print on the jar this morning, though in bright light, I was able to read it!
Okay, so I will give him carrots again this evening. Eventually we need to work up to 3 meals, but he's just starting to eat decent amounts of food at two meals, so I think I'll keep it at two a bit longer.
