Questions for first Re appointment
Hey! Thanks for all the RE recommendations. I'm so glad I joined this board. You all have been so helpful. I have my first RE appointment on Tuesday and I'm trying to get prepared. So if you have any advice or suggestions please let me know.
1) I'll be on CD 11 for my first appointment. I usually O on CD 14-15 based on OPK's and charting. What should I expect from a CD 11 first app?
2) Since I'll be on CD 11, will testing start the next cycle? I know I would need CD 3 bloodwork and an HSG (I read CD 5-10). Does that mean I really would need this cycle to wait, next cycle to test, and the 3rd cycle to start something? Just trying to figure out a timeline.
3) Any suggestions on questions I should ask or questions you wished you would have asked? I have a few so far....
Your feedback is much appreciated. I'm escited to get this process started, but nervous to find out whats wrong, if that makes any sense...THANKS

Re: Questions for first Re appointment
What doctor did u decide to go with? I asked tons of questions! Have u ever done Fertility treatments before? I think you might have to wait till next cycle to start but it will all be worth the wait one day! I asked questions like 1. Have you done all the testing I need to know what's wrong and how to proceed? 2. What types of medicine will you be putting me on? 3. Do I need a hysterscopy? I know I spelt it wrong but it's The test to make sure your tubes are not blocked 4. Ask about a water sonogram without that I Never would have known I needed surgery to get polyps Removed from my uterus! 5. I love my doctor ! I used to go to RSOfnY But didn't like them so I changed to Dr Brenner At LI IVf! I love them! Let me know if you have questions I hope I can help !

Questions for first Re appointment
Basically the RE told me what my protocol would be since my IF is secondary IF so we know what the reason is for me not getting preggo. When we switched RE DH went with me and asked more questions than me.

Hi. Thanks for all the info. I'm definitely jotting down your questions! I decided to go with Dr. Zapantis. His office is only 5 miles away, near the parkway which is good for me getting to work on time if I have to do early morning stuff, and I like that he gives personal attention. So hopefully I will like him and we can get something started. And no I haven't done any fertility treatments before. I'm 31 so I want to get this ball rolling...ha. I haven't had any tests or anything. So we will see. I was so happy I was ovulating (OPKs And Charting) but I guess thats not the issue for us. I just want to know whats wrong. Did you end up getting an HSg and the water sonogram? I'm gonna ask about them both. Thanks again.

Thanks for the info. Wow, thats the opposite of what I think my husband will be doing. He'll probably let me do all the talking and question asking. Maybe he'll be asking about the costs...I explained to him some of the terms and things we will probably be talking about but he really has no idea about all this stuff. He still thinks OPKs are funny... But I'm glad hes on board with whatever needs to be done. Well its us women that have to go through the hard part anyways.

Re: Questions for first Re appointment
i think it all depends on your dx and protocol
if they wanted to do a medicated cycle it is too late now
they might just monitor ur ovulation and tell u to do ti for this cycle
i think next cycle u could def try,the cd testing would be cd3 or around and he might not start off with a hsg right away and if he did u could still do a cycle
i would just ask anything and everything, always be ur advocate, ask protocol, what they plan on doing and how many cycles of it
good luck

Thanks for your response. Good idea to ask how many cycles of it....jotting that down.

Hi. Thanks for the info. Everything went well yesterday at the appointment. I have to call on CD 1 to schedule CD 3 bloodwork, SA, and HSG. I had a sonogram and everything looks normal. He gave lots of information so after we get our results back next cycle we'll make a plan from there.
