Questions for Interviewing Pediatricians
I feel weird "interviewing" prospective pediatricians, any suggestions for possible questions to ask?
Some of the questions I've seen posted on other websites seem unnecessary to me, like asking about insurance and office hours, because I already know the answers based on calling the office!!!
Anyone have any GOOD questions to ask!?

Re: Questions for Interviewing Pediatricians
The PEd's i saw kinda go through everything on their own.
But i asked:
When/what is an emergency? Emergency hours? View on BF'ing? Support? have LC? Preservative free vaccines? Schedule they use? Their view on prescribing meds? I wanted a doc that didn't give meds for every sniffle or push them. Do dr's have other specialties? Special times for newborn visits?
They answered my other questions in their presentation.

Re: Questions for Interviewing Pediatricians
I didn't really ask a list of questions- but I wanted to sit with him and see if he had patience- to see if he was the type of doctor that was on a time schedule and wanted to rush us out of the room to see another patient.
They call back quickly- they have separate well and sick visit times.. those were the most important things for me.

Re: Questions for Interviewing Pediatricians
I asked about cord blood banking, and emergency procedures. I also have asthma and wanted to know if that was something we could test for asap, and how my asthma meds would affect nursing. So I think it's a good idea to consider your own health history, if you have concerns about how they might affect your baby.
