Questions for the preggo gals!
Ok Im not even TTC or even close, but I was talking with my friend about this the other day and it had be thinking,
I know everyone says you just wish for a happy, heathy baby and all that but ...
did anyone REALLY wish for one sex? And if you didnt have that sex... how did you HONESTLY feel?

Re: Questions for the preggo gals!
I'll admit I had a preference. I wanted a boy first, because I loved having a big brother to watch over me. When the tech said girl, I'll admit I was disappointed for all of 5 minutes and then I was just happy she appeared healthy. Now I'm soooo excited to being having a girl! I'm having so much fun decorating and shopping and I can't wait to meet her!!!
I don't think you can ever going into it only wanting one or the other, because you have a 50/50 chance, but some people have preferences

Re: Questions for the preggo gals!
With my first, I WANTED a boy REALLY bad. I have little basis for this other than hating teenage girls b/c they are mean and moody and I don't want to deal with broken hearts...but out popped a girl! I was in love and honestly, thrilled. She's just like me...she acts like me and looks like me. When I realized she wasn't a he while pregnant [b/c her heartrate was DEAD on for a girl], I was a little sad...but I held out hope anyway...I thought that I might be disappointed in a girl, but once I saw her....my world ended and simultaneously began all over again.
This time, I could SERIOUSLY care less.....I am just thrilled that we are able to have a baby.

Re: Questions for the preggo gals!
Since they are twins I would love one of each as this is my first and last pregnancy.
But since it is only through the miracle of IVf that I am pregnant I won't push it.
The ony dream MIL and I've had so far has been Two other intuitive women we know insist they are

Re: Questions for the preggo gals!
I'll admit, I'd like a girl. But if it's a boy, I know I will be just as happy. Ultimately, I'd like one of each, but I also think it would be great for a girl to have a sister, or for a boy to have a brother.

Re: Questions for the preggo gals!
In my perfect scenario I always wanted a boy first - but now that I've had so many scares with this pregnancy I'll take whatever God gives me. People always say with twins too that a boy and girl would be the best but honestly I really don't care...could be because we want more kids after these two also.

We are open for either no sway either way. I have 3 nephews, so the whole family wants a girl ... but we are excited to have either. We are planning on having more children in the future.

Re: Questions for the preggo gals!
Jen I think I asked this question (or something like it) on the TTC board a while back. I know DH wants a son. I do know he would love a daughter equally. However, he is the last male in his family and I know it would please him to have his family name continue. HOWEVER, since we only have the time and money for two children, if G-d blesses us with two girls someday, then he knows the shop is closed. I do not think it makes him (or me for that matter) a bad person. I think it makes us real and honest.

I felt the SAME EXACT WAY... and the SAME for me........ I am so thrilled, we both are. All in all it doesn't matter, as long as you get those healthy reports from your Dr. appts. and sonos.... you could care less what he sex is. I can't wait til she arrives, besides she has an endless closet full of clothes waiting for her.

I think that's my preference too for the same reasons. I loved having an older brother. DH wants a boy first to "carry on the family name." but I have nieces and nephews and loved shopping for the girl stuff. I thought it was more fun, so I really will be happy either way.

I have a boy and would love to have a girl this pregnancy. Have one of each and we are done. But I will be very very happy if this baby turns out to be a boy.

Re: Questions for the preggo gals!
I personally don't care, but I know DH is scared to death of trying to raise a girl, so I know he wants a boy.
ETA: Plus he insists it is easier to name a boy

Re: Questions for the preggo gals!
we are praying for a boy because I don't think I want a 3rd child. As long as it is healthy is the main concern but we would LOVE our son!

I asked this question once before. My DH wanted a boy, I really didn't care but it would have been nice to have a boy first then a girl. We are having a girl and we are both thrilled, she is healthy, that is most important

Re: Questions for the preggo gals!
We were really hoping for a boy in the beginning. My DH does a lot of "guy" stuff that would have been good to bring up kids with (sports, hunting, cards, etc.) It would have made me happy to see us have a boy for my DH. When we found out it was a girl, I took it hard because first, we were dead-set on it being a boy, and secondly, I am not the girliest of girls and I know how hard it is to grow up a girl. In the end, we are elated and can't wait to meet our girl. DH called her "Daddy's little girl" yesterday which almost made me cry. It's in God's hands, and he gave us what is perfect for us.

Re: Questions for the preggo gals!
My DH only wants a boy (he'd love a girl too of course) but we help to raise his little siblings and the teenage girls are just out of control!
Anyway, secretly I hope its a girl. Maybe because I get to name a girl (boy's name is already decided) or maybe its just because I was in a family of all girls and it is just what I know. I would love a boy too...or maybe I just want to be the opposite of DH

Re: Questions for the preggo gals!
DH claims he wasnt disappointed when we found out it was a girl but i know he really wanted a boy first. But that all changed when we went to BRU the next day and he seen everything that said Daddy's Little Girl - now he can not wait to have a daughter!

Re: Questions for the preggo gals!
The first time around I really didn't care since I knew we'd be having more kids. And I'm glad it was a boy since I think it is easier on the men to deal with baby boys...plus the pressure to carry on the name in our family is now done!
With this one, I definately wanted a girl and they tell me that is what I am having! But if it was a boy I'd be just as happy.
With this one being a girl, it just makes it a little easier to say, "Hey, maybe 2 kids is good.!" If this one was another boy I'd definately be inclined to have a third to see if it would be a girl. But then I'd draw the line!

With my first I wanted a boy. I actually found out so if it was a girl I could prepare myself.

I really want a girl, and will probably be disappointed for a minute if I have a boy, but I'll have no choice either way!

Re: Questions for the preggo gals!
Just revealed to my mom today that I secretly would LOVE a boy...mostly because I think I am paranoid of having a lil girl in this crazy world of maniacs.....
However, the girl clothes are SO CUTE and I would love her just the same
Truly, its my first so either is great! I am so happy
