Questions to girls who have miscarried-posting for a friend...
My friend miscarried 29 days ago at 6 weeks. Today she just felt weird and she tested and it came back with a BFP. She has had about 4 miscarriages in the past... do you think that she could still ahve hormones in her body to make it positive? She BD just about two weeks ago which technically could give her the opportunity to be pg... what do you think?

I think she should call her dr.....could go either way and Dr. would know best.
If she can bare to wait it out, I'd say wait 2 wks and then test again....but that is sooo long.
Tell her to call the doctor and ask......

TY! She did and is still waiting for them to call her back. I figured this was the second best place to check...

You can still carry the HCG in your body for weeks after a m/c. The doctor usually recommends that you wait at least 1 cycle before TTC again. I hope she receives good news.

Repeat miscarriages is an issue that some of the girls on the IF board are dealing with. You might want to head over to them for some answers as well.

Ifd she miscarried 29 days ago she still could have hcg in her system. However there are 2 things that concern me. 1. I she under the care of a Dr? They should be testing her every week until it goes down.
2. Has she looked into the multiple miscarriages? If she wants to sign on and FM me I can help her with that. A regular RE or OB?GYN will NOT help her.

You girls are the best! She is a lurker so I will ask her to FM you...
Yes-she is going to an RE but they hadn't called her back yet... and then when they did, they said she probably isn't. He was a 72 on Tuesday and today she had a BFP.

I miscarried around the same time; the strange thing is that I have not had any blood tests to be sure I'm clear, but I guess AF will tell that. We have been BD-ing, but trying not to get pg believe it or not until AF shows. Honestly, you can get pg during this time; in fact, I have heard a person can be extremely fertile. Definitely should check w/ the dr - a positive home pregnancy test can mean either there is hormone left or she is pg and she should find out which it is! Best of luck to her!!

Doubtful that it's still hormones from the miscarriage, almost 4 weeks later. She is probably preggo - you're extraordinarily fertile right after an m/c.
I had an m/c at 6 weeks. A week later I conceived my daughter

I had a m/c about 22 days ago, and I still have some pg hormones in my body, I found out because I did an OPK and it kept coming up + so I took a pg test and that was also +, I am waiting for the DR. to call back to find out why my levels haven't gone down yet.

It took me about 8 weeks to have no more HCG in my body.

Re: Questions to girls who have miscarried-posting for a friend...
I miscarried naturally and it took a few weeks (at least 3 1/2) for the levels to return to zero.
It is quite possible that it is leftover hCg but I am not a doctor; I hope that she is pregnant if that is what she wants!
Feel free to FM if you have any specific questions
