Quick intralipids storage question

I just received my massive delivery of intralipid infusion supplies. DH is referring to the IV pole as my "stripper pole" Chat Icon

Anyhow, there was one bag in the box marked for refrigeration, with the intralipids, and then another bag that had a bunch of stuff in it including an IV drip of sodium chloride. This one wasn't marked for refrigeration. I believe it's the anphalaxis kit that they send in case. Does the sodium chloride go in the fridge too?

I can't believe how much stuff came in that box!

ETA: Nevermind, I finally read the bag of sodium chloride closely and it said to store at room temperature.

Re: Quick intralipids storage question

hm... i only got one packet, with the intralipid itself ( looked like milky water). i did not refrigerate it, kept it for a month and then used it. on my packet it said NOT TO REFRIGERATE, b/c it will lose 20% of its value.

Re: Quick intralipids storage question

oh and Linda told me nothing needs to be added to it ( such as sodium chloride). i specifically asked her, b/c person who did IV for me asked if she needed to do piggy IV ( that is additional IV line, that will merge into intralipid and deliver combined mixture to the vein)

Re: Quick intralipids storage question

If you refrigerate the intralipids, be sure to take it out an hour or so before it's administered. I got home from work just as the nurse arrived so I didn't have time to do this and it was awful! My arm went numb and my whole body was FREEZING even with a blanket on from the icy liquid being pumped through me!
