quick question about life ins
how much life insurance do you have?
how much does your dh have?
how much for dc?

DH and I have both life insurance. I have 1/2 of DH's life insurance.
No life insurance for DS. The probability of infant death are low. So by putting money away every month instead on spending on insurance premium we have a better return on what "could" be.
ETA: In case of DH's death, the mortgage payments would no longer need to be made. It's not part of the life insurance. That was done at the time of the closing of the house.

Most normally get the amt needed to fufill a mtg and then some.
an ex: $500k or more
I know that that the DH's also tend to take more out on them esp if they are the sole income etc.
-Most do not take out on children but there are some options that falls under life insurance and can be a part of savings as well.

We have enough to cover mortgage and loss of salary and a little extra.
We only have policies on DH and myself, we don't have any on the kids

Dh is actually signing up for one - we just got the #'s..he is going to do 500,000 for 20 years, i am not getting one at this time.
