Quick question re: eye doctor
I'm 9 weeks tomorrow and going to the eye doctor today. I know my ob/gyn said it was fine to have an eye exam I'm a little weary to have my eyes dilated so soon. I basically just need a new prescription. Anyone have advice? Thanks!

If your OB said dilation drops are safe, I wouldn't worry. If you are very worried you can ask for a refraction-you don't need to be dilated for a refraction which would measure your vision.
You can also ask the eye doctor if the drops are absorbed into the bloodstream.

Actually, when I asked my ob I think he may have thought I just meant a typical exam, I didn't specifcally ask about dilation. I'm just not comfortable I don't think. I'm not sure why. I can go back in a few months to have a full exam. I think I will ask them not to do it.

i went when i was preg with ds and i was about 8-9 weeks... my eye doctor opted to not dialate... just let them know your preg

I went for an eye exam at 39 weeks and the dr told me he wasn't going to use the drops. I would tell them you are pregnant.
