Quitting the Sippy Cup
DS is 4 years old and has been drinking from a straw sippy cup since about a year. Never thought about until we were at a playdate and noticed the other kids were drinking from a kid-friendly plastic cup.
DS knows how to drink from a regular cup (he uses one at preschool during snack) but I'm wondering if a sippy is too baby-ish?
But, I still like the cap on a sippy cup because we still spill drinks.

Re: Quitting the Sippy Cup
My son is able to drink from an open cup and he will use them at home on occasion, but he mainly drinks out of a straw cup because it is more kid friendly (less spills). You can go to a sports bottle for him. We use them a lot too. My son is 4.5 years old..

Re: Quitting the Sippy Cup
I give straw sippys to my 4 yr old all day long. She drinks from a regular kid cup at breakfast and dinner and lunch (depending). A real cup only when sitting to eat

Re: Quitting the Sippy Cup
my son turned 4 last month and since his birthday, we use cups, no lids with straws! If he is in the car, I still give him a sippy.

Quitting the Sippy Cup
My DS is 4 1/2 and I use the water bottles that they sell at Party City - he can drink from a cup but, I prefer something with a lid to eliminate spills. Also, my 2 year old wants to do everything his brother does so it's just easier not to use regular cups.
