Qustion for those of you who have taken the Glucost test
I know everyone says to fast the morning of, but should I be watching what I eat today? (I'm taking it tomorrow morning) TIA!

i think is was 12 hrs prior to the test that you had to fast.

Yeah - i think it was 12 hours before hand. Nothing but water. I took mine first thing in the morning.
I didnt watch what I ate bc I wanted the test to come out accurate, but some people do.

Ask you doctor, because I was told specifically NOT to fast and to have breakfast in the morning.
ETA: I ate normally and passed with flying colors, even though my mom is a diabetic.

I wasn't told to fast but I took the test first thing in the morning & decided not to eat first to be on the safe side.
I didn't watch what I ate the day before and my test came out good. I also have a diabetic mother, aunts, uncles & cousins.

My doctor said I didn't have to fast, but she recommended that I do. I went at 7:30 am, so I didn't bother eating anything before I went.
ETS: Didn't fast, but did have ice cream the night before and passed with flying colors.

I had to not eat after midnight. My test was at 9 am, so I drank the stuff at 8.

I was told I did not have to fast, but I was also told to eat something pretty light and not sugary (also no juice). I had an egg.

I just took it this morning and was told not to fast. I had a small bowl of go lean cereal about an hour beforehand.

One person told me to fast and when I was practically fainting on my feet after I showed up, someone else told me I didn't have to fast. 
I think watching what you eat the day before is pointless, honestly, unless you're going to watch what you eat every day. Because what's the point of being good on the day you take the test when if you were tested on an average day you'd fail it? You'd be doing yourself a disservice. Although, if you do have GD I think it would come out in the test regardless.
I happened to take the test the day after my birthday, so I was particularly bad the day before my test. It's been a week and I haven't heard anything yet. No news is good news!

I am going for my test tomorrow morning also and the doctor didn't mention anything about fasting.
My sister just said not to eat anything particularly sugary beforehand (like a bowl of Lucky Charms or something).
I have to eat 1st thing in the morning or I get really really nauseous so I'm just planning on have toast before I go.

I was told to fast from 8 or 10pm on till I take the test. I took my test first thing in the morning (7am) so I don't really consider it a huge fasting ordeal.
The day before I watched my sugar in take, I didn't eat cookies things like that and no complex carbs like white rice and pasta.

I was told not to fast for the 1hr. I was to have breakfast but no carbs and no juice. I just had eggs and cheese well and a glass of milk. Which probably affected my results....b/c I didn't pass. So now I have to take the 3hr GTT fasting though for 12 hrs.

I ate in the morning, and had a coffee - with tons of sugar and milk. I still passed.
I don't think eating is an issue...

I had a pint of Ben and Jerrys the night before my test and passed with flying colors!!!! I don't recommend doing it though.

My doctor told me to eat my regular meal and not to fast.
I would suggest that you call your doc to find out AND make sure that the lab knows what type it is - fasting or non-fasting.
Mine was supposed to be non-fasting but they did a fasting one. Fortunately my results were very good otherwise I would have had to do it again.
