Railings are done! Come see pics...
Well, the last contractor is finally done (well - almost, there is one more baluster that needs to be added this week). Now we just have to get moving and finish the painting, moldings, doors, etc. Just ignore the mess in the photos - things are still not in order here. Here is the finished railing we got for our stairs...
the lower staircase railing
the bottom of the new staircase
the new staircase
the balcony railing (this is what I see from my bedroom)
the upper staircase railing
and the detail of the balusters (we went with a double basket, single twist pattern)

Let me tell you, this isnt my taste, I thought, but I absolutely LOVE it.. It looks so classy, I am really impressed!! Nice job If I do my banister over I am definatley doing that

I really wasn't sure it was my taste either, but DH wanted a strong railing since we have a toddler. Now that its up, I it!

OMG..thats gorgeous..who did the work? i love the iron railings..i never have seen that with the design...im looking to redo our stairway as well..and that is def going to be something i look into..im gonna show dh..
