Rainbow cake recipe help - Is it me?
Can somebody help me here? I found this recipe online and want to make it tomorrow night, but I fail to see where the colors come from. What am I missing? Are the colors just from the addition of sprinkles? If so, how did they get the colors so uniform?

something is very off on that recipe.
#1 That picure looks like a dome cake (which is baked in either a special pan or a mixing bowl is used)
#2 That is definitely food coloring.
If you want to make it, I would get a stainless steel bowl. I would separate some batter out and mix the colors you want (you can use very little for the 'top' two colors since they will be the smallest layer) and work your way out. The baking time is going to be a bit tricky since you are baking it in a bowl, so I am unsure of how long you would need.
The only other option I can think of, is split the batter into 4 ---- dye the batter into 4 different colors then bake 4 different round cakes. They will be thinner so they will bake in less time and will look pretty stacked (with a THIN layer of icing or jam inbetween acting as glue)

No, you are right. If you read through the reviews there are many complaints about the picture not matching the cake. It seems the wrong picture was uploaded without the bakers knowledge. There is also a link to the cake shown.
The cake is really cool looking!

the first recipe is color is def from the sprinkles....it is like the funfetti mix you buy. I like the 2nd recipe wayy better
