DH has this obsession w/ CLOSING all of the bathroom doors in our house all of the time. He says it is "rude" to keep the bathroom door open.
I hate the idea that when we have company that they will open the door to a messy closet, or our laundry room in search of the bathroom - so I prefer the doors to remain open...
Just wondering if anyone else was taught this growing up???

Growing up, it was closed. The layout and size of the bathroom meant that the door opened out into the hall instead of in to the bathroom. So it was practical to keep in closed.
In our current house, both are kept open.

Closed- but only because my son will try and climb into the toliet or tub- if I leave the doors open....
Before he was mobile- the bathroom doors were always open

downstairs one is closed all the time, upstairs is open.
Downstairs opens OUT, and if the door was open all the time, it would block the front door.
Upstairs opens in, so its always open.

My bathroom is off the bedroom & there is a mirror on the bedroom side of the door, so I keep it closed often to use the mirror, but I used to always keep it open, in other places I've lived.

Downstairs closed-cause we dont like the dog to go in there-he DIGS on the rug in front of the bathroom and it drives me crazy

It is closed when the A/C is on ..but typically the door from our bedroom to the bathroom is always closed
