Rave: Aerie Shiny High Waisted Leggings
These Aerie leggings are a dupe for the Spanx faux leather leggings which I also have and love. However, I also bought these Aerie leggings for the fraction of the cost and they are so comfy, flattering and good material:

Oh nice! I want to get leather leggings now. I can’t get the brand you suggested, but I can find a few online in stores near here.
In general are they thicker than regular leggings? With regular leggings I always completely cover my butt and don’t wear them as pants. Leggings are not pants, etc.
But I’m wondering if I could get away with something a little shorter that just covers my butt, kind of like the Nordstrom photo. Or is that a don’t?

Yes the Aerie’s are thicker than regular leggings. The Nordstrom’s are thicker than Aerie. I never understood the leggings aren’t pants.. they cover my ass so they are pants in my eyes. Leggings aren’t pants but yoga and other workout pants are ok?? Lol. I don’t follow the rules.
They are thicker and I wore them Friday with a Target v-neck tee similar to the photo and a long cardigan. It looked fine.

Well, the thing is regular leggings can be a bit too shear for me, so that’s why I don’t do leggings as pants. I don’t want my underwear to show through. I have Ponte leggings, and I don’t mind them just covering my butt. As long as the material is thick enough, I’m good. I do the same thing with skinny jeans, but I just like longer tops as it doesn’t cut me in half.
I’ll be busy this week going shopping and stretching out all the faux leggings to see how thick they are.

See I don’t know. Tights for me aren’t that thick. Then regular leggings like from the Gap or Old Navy or something are thick, but not that thick. I will usually wear regular leggings with a short “dress” or long tunic or something, like something I would never wear tights with. Or around the house, but then all bets are off, lol.

To me the leggings that show your ass and are shear, are usually the cheaper material or brand. Those I will wear with a dress or long tunic just like if I had a shear dress, I would wear thick tights or leggings to not show my underwear. But leggings are pants and I will fight for them lol!!
ETA: I want to say I also have a big @ss for my frame, and these still weren’t see through

I honestly love all things Aerie. I have a ton of tank tops and t-shirts from them and they are insanely soft. My DH loves AE jeans, too.
