real estate and selling question
Let's say I am selling my house by owner, but the people who are buying have an RE. How does their RE get paid....does it come out of the price of the house.
Let's say I sold for $400,000 and they got 10%. Would I as the seller walk away with $400,000 or would I walk away with 10% less than that because I would have to pay their agent from that money?

Re: real estate and selling question
I'm pretty sure that the commission would come out of the buyer's pocket, b/c one of the reason's a person likes to sell "by owner" is to avoid those expenses/fees and I can't imagine that you'd have to take it out of your price.
Overall, I don't think agents should be working with buyers who are looking to buy "FSBO"

Re: real estate and selling question
If you want agents to bring you buyers, you will have to offer a commission to the buyer's agentt, otherwise REA will have no incentive to show your house.

Re: real estate and selling question
If you didn't advertise a buyer's commission...than the commission will be paid by the buyer. But if you offer 2%, you will get more REAs in with clients to see your house.
2% would be the max you would pay
