Really NERVOUS
This is a big year for us....it's my third year in my Counseling PhD and I am working, taking class, interning, and supervising masters students in the counseling lab---that freaks me out the most--although I have supervised other therapists while working in the field---I just keep thinking about how AWESOME my PhD Student supervisor was when I was a masters student....and hoping to be as good.
And DH just started a joing MBA/MSF full time program today while he also is working part time and playing in his band....
So just feeling all jittery but excited with the year ahead!!!!
trying to just vent my anxiety away!!!

As a current Counseling Psych ABD, I know what you are feeling. This year was my first year working as a Psychologist and supervising interns (I was an intern last year). I was so worried I wouldn't be able to offer anything, but boy was I wrong. You know so much more than you think you know and you will be just as great or better than your student supervisor. Also, try to take the pressure off yourself. So much of supervision is just providing a supportive, safe atmosphere so that the supervisee can do the work/grow/develop their own style/etc.

ETA: What program are you in? I'm at Fordham Lincoln Center.

Wow!! That's a lot of exciting stuff to take on all at once. Obviously you wouldn't be doing it if you didn't think you could handle it. Cheers to you and your DH for taking on such great challenges and for daring to reach for your dreams.

THANKS! I have supervised masters level counselors before in my jobs (took 5 years off after my counseling masters) sooo am feeling WAY better about that now that everything else started...just juggling it all is already driving me crazy...I LOVE supervision.
I am in George Washington University's program (like to come on here since I am from LOng Island and got married there).
COngrats on being ABD! Can't wait to get there.
