ok i found this u think i can make it without peppers and substitute with broccolli? SOUNDS SO GOOD
Picadillo - it's a cuban dish.
Ingredients: 1 lb chopped meat 1 medium onion, diced 1 green pepper 3-4 cloves of garlic, chopped 2 small cans tomato sauce 2 tbsp olive oil garlic and onion powder oregano
Heat oil in frying pan over medium heat. Add chopped garlic and lightly brown. Add peppers and onion and cook until just soft. Add chopped meat and brown thoroughly. Mix all together in pan. Add 1 1/2 cans of tomato sauce to meat and mix in. Sprinkle onion and garlic powder and oregano. Cover pan and reduce heat. Cook approximately 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally.
I serve it over white rice. My sister and brother in law make beans with it too, but DH and I dont like beans. It's one of my favorite meals!

Re: recipes with chopped meat
easiest meatloaf ever -and so good too! 1.5 lbs chopped meat 1 egg 1 cup ketchup 1cup flavored bread crumbs
Mix them all togther, if it's too wet add more bread crumbs, if its too dry add more ketchup.
Make into loaf shape and cook at 350 for about 45 minutes.
Tacos are a good one too. Just buy the kit in the supermarket.

Re: recipes with chopped meat
Sheppard's pie
Ground beef salt and pepper to taste 1 12oz jar of beef gravy 1 16oz bag of frozen mixed vegetables (thawed) instant mashed potatoes 1/2 cup of paremsan cheese
Brown the beef in a skillet, drain. Add salt and peper, gravy and the mixed vegetables. Cook until mixture is heated througout. Prepare the mashed potatoes according to the pacakge (serving for 4).
Then, transfer the meat mixture into a casserole dish (or some other dish that can withstand the broiler) and put the mashed potatoes on top in a ring, leaving an open circle in the middle. Sprinkle the paremsan on top of the potatoes and put in the broiler for 5-7 minutes.

Re: recipes with chopped meat
I make this about once every other week. SO EASY and yummy too! an added bonus is that cleanup is a breeze since you're only using 1 pan
1 lb of ground beef 1 cup of minute rice 3/4 cup (give or take) of Ragu Traditional - yes, I said Ragu! lol chopped onions Mrs. Dash original blend seasoning
You can tweak the ingredients or seasonings. I sometimes add chopped green or yellow peppers. I’ve also added shredded mozzarella cheese 2 minutes before it was done. I use a 10" sauté pan.
Spray pan with Pam. place the beef in the pan and use a large spoon to break up the beef into tiny pieces, add onion & Mrs Dash seasoning. brown the ground beef (until cooked thoroughly). drain the fat.
add the tomato sauce (you might need to add some water to thin it out). add the minute rice. make sure to mix the rice in well! cover and let it simmer for about 5 minutes. Enjoy!

Re: recipes with chopped meat
i have this great recipe that freezes well too... The ingredients may sound wierd and may be something that you wont like, but it is soo good!
you need: chopped meat 1 can black olives (drained) 1 jar green olives (drained) 1 jar capers (drained) 2 cans tomato paste 2 green peppers (chopped) 1 onion (chopped)
saute peppers and onions-- remove from pan.
Brown meat, then drain.
Mix all ingredients together plus two cans of water (fill tomato paste cans) Mix it up welll and let it sit on the stove a bit until it is all warmed through. (i usually let it sit with a cover on it about 15-20 minutes)
Serve over rice... YUMMM

Re: recipes with chopped meat
Another good one that always goes over well:
Ing: Ground beef Egg noodles Brown gravy Sour cream
Brown ground beef while cooking egg noodles. When noodles are finished, drain and return to pot. Mix beef in with noodles, add gravy (enough to cover all the meat and noodles) and a few dolups of sour cream. Stir until blended throughout.
So easy, so quick, and so yummy!
