Recommend a good Thomas the Train starter set
DS is 2 and for Christmas (he'll be 2 1/2) I want to get him a Thomas set. I dont want the whole train table and everything...just a good starter set that comes with tracks, trains, and a few other odds and ends. Looking online is overwhelming...there's so much stuff for Thomas that I dont even know what I should be getting him. Can anyone reccomend a good set to start off with?

I would start him off with the take along roundhouse set.. that way, he can take along with him.. he can take it to his dads when he visits him :)
My son has every dang train in wood/plastic/metal that you can imagine.. he was OBSESSED..

the take along stuff is great. DS had the roundhouse and loved it. there are a few other cute ones and you can connect them to make bigger sets. the take along individual trains are cheaper than the wooden ones too.
