recommend any camara with a FAST or continuous shutter speed plz!
i have the casio exilim and dh and i always loved it until my ds became mobile. it is sooooo slow and i miss all the best pictures.
i need a camera (maybe even an slr) with a FAST shutter speed or a continuous shot mode. preferably with high mega pixles and an image stabilizer.
any recs? about how much will it cost?

EDITTED TO ASK: where is the cheapest place to get the Nikon d40? and how much is it?
is it better to get a point and shoot with 10 mega pixels or an slr with 6 mp? Image Attachment(s):

I've been doing some research on this myself and I think really the only option is to go to SLR.

which slr do you recommend? will it be a pain to carry around? i have an old (not didgital but huge lens) slr and i NEVER used it.

The SLR is really your best bet - BUT - I just went out and got an inexpensive point and shoot b/c I'm afraid to take my Nikon D40 all over the place - it is big, and I fear it will get broken or stolen.

We just got the Nikon d40, and I am IN LOVE with it already  It's still on the auto setting, I haven't even tried anything else yet (although I do use the Portrait mode too  ), and it is sooooo fast. I mean, I got progression pics of her sticking her tongue, inch by inch. It is amazing, and again, that's just on the auto feature, not the continuous feature.
I got it as a gift, my MIL got it from Ritzcamera.com They have some good packages, with the DVD's, 2nd lens, bag, etc.

I have a canon rebel xt for my SLR - love it, but yes it is bulky.
Just bought a Canon SD950 - was recommended to me buy the salespeople at B&H photo (but I ordered online for the cheapest price) and we love it so far! Quick shutter speed - slightly slower when using the flash but that is to be expected. HUGE HUGE improvement from my small Olympus which was a joke...
If you can afford the SLR go that route you will never regret it!

same with me. I keep the cheap one in my pocketbook with me at all times and my Nikon I use for special occasions or at my house, etc. only.

I have the D40x SLR. I don't use any other camera now.
I take it if we go out and think we will take pics. We don't go out much though.
I have a nice camera bag. Found it on amazon super cheap (but was actually sold by cameta camera locally).

They tend to have the best prices. If you're looking for a good deal, keep checking back for the open box specials.
An admin at my company picked up her DSLR Nikon that way.

I have a D80 and I have a regular point and shoot. To be honest, I haven't used my point and shoot since getting the D80. I use it all the time and I take it EVERYWHERE!

I have a Canon SD800 and it has a continuous shot feature. For a point and shoot it's a great camera for the price..$350ish..But Im holding out for an SLR.
