Re: Recommend carpet place w/installation
Look over on 110. There is Carpet Depot and Montauk Carpet. We used Montauk Carpet and got a good deal for 3 bedrooms.

Re: Recommend carpet place w/installation
We don't have carpets. But friends of ours just had 3 bdrms done and after getting prices they went with Carpet Depot in Lake Grove. The carpet was done within 4 days.

We just got a carpet remnant from Montauk and we're very pleased. Great prices! We did not use them for installation, though.

Re: Recommend carpet place w/installation
We used G. Fried on old country road for almost every room in our house. They may be a tad more $$ then others but the service and installation are always great and we have never had even one issue with them. They did 6 rooms so far with more to come.

Re: Recommend carpet place w/installation
We are going with Remnant City on Sunrise Highway in Patchogue for carpet in our finished basement. They are MUCH MUCH cheaper than Home Depot who we were originally going to go with for installation and had a better selection.

We used them and got EXACTLY what we wanted for a great price. They did our entire house minus two rooms. If there's ever a need to do the other two rooms - we're calling them and no one else!
We had a horrible experience w/Empire. I'm sure my thread is somewhere in here....Which reminds me, I must send them a letter.

I just used Remnant City for a carpet in my son's room and I was not happy with them at all! The room is small and (only about 10 feet wide) and they put a seam right down the middle! It was totally unnecessary - they just cut it wrong. I called 3 times and they finally came to inspect it and told me it was a crease! They totally lied to me because my neighbor was at my house painting when they installed it and heard the installer saying that it was cut wrong and they were going to have to seam it! I will never use them again!

Re: Recommend carpet place w/installation
We used Montauk Carpet on 110 (by the new Lowes) and got an excellent deal for 5 rooms with install. They also have huge remnants in the back that can cut down on your cost.

Re: Recommend carpet place w/installation
We went to G. Fried and thought they were really expensive. We used All About Floors in Bethpage right near the train station on Broadway. I just got a coupon in the mail. If you want it, let me know and I will mail it to you.

I had heard great things too - that's why I went there. My neighbors all use them and were happy - I just got totally skunked on the installation in the one room. And what got me the most was that they blatently lied.

Re: Recommend carpet place w/installation
We used G. Fried on Old Country Rd. Make sure you ask to see what is in the warehouse. We found carpet for 2 rooms in the warehouse which were considered remnants at a discounted price. We managed to get the price down to the same as home depot's prices. Also remember that you can haggle a bit with the salesmen.
