Recommend Your Crib Please
DH and I have decided to start looking for cribs but I have no clue where to start!!
Just wondering who loves their crib, why, where did you get it and how much did it cost.
Hopefully then I can narrow down my options.

Re: Recommend Your Crib Please
I love our crib! It has a drop down side, converts to a toddler bed, has a storage drawer underneath and best of all, was only $50! I got it at Target 75% off. Not sure of the brand..I think it's one of their "store" lines.

Re: Recommend Your Crib Please
I got both cribs at Behr's - I figured with 100 someodd cribs in the store I'd find one LOL.
However, looking back really any crib will do. I spent a ridiculous amount on both of them and now that Ava is out of it I didn't even convert it (although I am using the back for her headboard for her big girl bed). Jack's most likely won't be converted at all b/c his room is so small so that feature to me is a waste.
Think of how it will be used in the future and check out reviews.....those are always helpful.
BTW - Ava's is a Morigeau Lepine...do not order from them. While hers was gorgeous their quality and customer service has gone downhill.

Re: Recommend Your Crib Please
My kids have the Bonavita Chloe Crib. It has one high side that we put against the wall, and the other side drops down. It was a drawer underneath. It was about $500-$600 if I remember correctly.
ETA: It's a convertible crib too, but we probably won't ever use it in a conversion, so waste of money there.

Re: Recommend Your Crib Please
I also have a Bonavita, well actually 2.
My DD has the Bonavita Sheffield with a drop down side (picture 1)
My DS will have a Bonavita Peyton with a drop down side (picture 2)
I got both at BBB. I totally prefer a drop down side and they both convert to a toddler bed. The Peyton has a drawer underneath. Great quality and very nice.
I think they were about $300 - $400 each (but I used the 20% coupon!!)

Re: Recommend Your Crib Please
I got my son's at Behr's, it was Pali, not sure the name of the exact model. But, just recently got a beautiful crib at Target for my in-law's house for $50! They had one in the back from their clearance sale.

Re: Recommend Your Crib Please
i have a convertable crib and i think it's sooo pretty BUT i would NOT recommend it for the following reasons: the rim all around the crib is so thick that i couldn't use a mobile. it doesn't have a drop down side and now with the crib at it's lowest setting i practically drop ds in there and i'm on my tip-toes.

Re: Recommend Your Crib Please
Ours was $120 and we got it BRU. It has a drop down side (which I am REALLY happy about because I am short) I can't remember who makes it, but here is a picture from our house Oh and it turns into a toddler bed too.

Yup! I also got the matching changing table for $22.00 And the best part is, I don't care if it gets dinged, chewed on or scratched since it was so cheap!

I got mine at Behr's - I love it. It does convert - and it doesn't have a drop down side. I am short - it's annoying - but I personally don't like drop down sides.
It is wider on the sides but I can still hang the mobile. Let me see if I can find a pic.

Re: Recommend Your Crib Please
We have the Munire Savannah crib in cherry. It converts to a toddler bed and then a full size bed. We've barely used it because DD is still in the pnp in our room, but I love it because it's pretty.

Re: Recommend Your Crib Please
We have the Bonavita Peyton crib from BBB too. I really love it. It feels sturdy. I will say sometimes the drawer sticks underneath which can be a pain, but it has only happened 3x in 7 months of use.

Re: Recommend Your Crib Please
We got ours at Behrs. We got the Munire Newport. It doesn't have a dropdown side and is convertible. I think it was either $549 or $649. Here is a picture. Ours is in the Espresso finish. I love it. Though my DS is only 3 months old and hasn't really slept in it. DH and I are fairly tall so I don't think the stationary side will be a problem...I hope not anyway. Image Attachment(s):

Re: Recommend Your Crib Please
I went to BRU and bought the crib they have been selling for over 20 years (they used to sell it in TRU before BRU opened. It is basic but works great. Drop down sides & adjustable height for the mattress. It was, I think, 119.00. Well worth it - I am not having any more kids, so it doesn't matter if it doesn't last, but I don't see why it wouldn't. It's sturdy, etc.

We have the same set(crib, dresser & armoire) in cherry. My DD is 2 years old and it has definitely lived up to it's ratings. It converts into a daybed and a fullsize footboard/headboard.

Re: Recommend Your Crib Please
Both of my kids have cribs by Legacy, which is a division of Childcraft. Sarah's is a convertible crib with we have as the toddler bed now. We will be using it for her big girl bed too.
Andy's is a drop side one. I really like it. We have a hand me down toddler racing car bed for him when he's ready to transition. Then I think we'll get him bunk beds.

Re: Recommend Your Crib Please
I love my dd crib, but one thing I wish I would of bought was a crib with a drop down side. Mine doesn't drop down, so when she is asleep it is so hard to put her down in it without waking her up. It's something I wish I would of known when I went crib shopping!

Re: Recommend Your Crib Please
I have a pali and love, love, love it! got it from Behr's. I think it was like $850 but worth every single penny! It is so sturdy, has a drawer underneath that fits A LOT, drop side, convertible. My friend got a BRU crib and after a year it was so shoddy. Image Attachment(s):
