With DD, I had a diaper champ, and I HATED it...we had a 2nd floor 2 bedroom co-op and everytime we emptied it, the whole place stunk for an hour or so...
We finally threw it out, and just started using the regular garbage can (super stinky ones we took right out to the dumpster).
This time around, I wasn't going to get one...However, my cousin got this one and she says it is SO much better...so I might try it...

another vote for putting in the regular garbage and taking it out nightly.
I couldn't stomach the idea of a diaper pail.

All diapers go downstairs to the garbage and the poops go RIGHT outside. Trust me, if not, the room and the pail will eventually stink to holy heck!
Same here, no diaper pail here either.

I do not plan on getting a diaper pail. The thought of it skeeves me a little. They will go straight out to the big trash each night.

I dont think a diaper pail is necessary. I think it is gross to think that poop and pee diapers can sit in a pail for days and days.
I buy scented small garbage bags at The dollar tree (50 for $1) and leave some in diaper bag and a roll in changing table basket.
Poop diapers go in the bag, tied up and then tossed in regular garbage in our kitchen. It NEVER smells. We toss the kitchen garbage bag at the very least 1 time a day.
I do not have the patience to walk outside and dump the bag after every diaper change. The scented bags keep the diaper from smelling. Even pee diapers just get tossed.
As long as you are throwing out your garbage once a day you shouldnt have a problem.

No diaper pail for us either...straight into a bag and out to the garbage chute (we live in an apt) or pail (when we are at my moms).
I can't imagine having poop sitting in a pail that gets dumped once every couple of days or whatever...holy smell!!!

We have a diaper genie and use it. Right now I ran out of bags and we're missing it. It's not a can't live without item but ti certainly is nice to have.
