Recommend your Early Intervention person...
I called twice the # my PED gave me and no one has called me back for an appointment.
Can you recommend who you used??
Im in Coram (suffolk).

It took a couple of days for the Nassau department to get back to me... (Unfotunately you need to go through the State department not directly through the therapists ( who actually work for companies that send them out)..
See if they call today and just keep trying..
Unfortunately, I am in Nassau, so the numbers there, are not going to help you.

Yes. I had the same experience in Nassau. The coordinators have very big caseloads. This week is a crazy week with the holiday but, I would call and ask for a supervisor. Be prepared, they move very slowly and if you require services as my son did it may take a few weeks before they begin. Good luck!!

If I remember correctly, I called a couple of times myself before they got back to me..I think when I called there was an intake person who took all my info and then I guess they give it to a coordinator... unfortunately I don't know how long it takes to get to a coordinator.. Also remember this week is July 4th week so alot of people might be on vacation..
I would call again today...

I called a number my PEd recommended and she told me she will give my info to a coordinator.
When they called they answer "Early Intervention", so Im assuming it is an agency??

you have to go thru the EI coordinators.. the number is 8532318.. they will send an intake coordinator to your house and she will set up for the various services to come in and do the evaluations..
request Marion and Salomon to do your evals.... they are the best (i've done this a few times  ).. once they evaluate and your son gets services(if he does) then you will have another choice of who will provide the servies.. if you get that far.. i can recommend them too!! we are also in Coram.. let me know if i can help you in any way.
