I have the one that is shaped like a Frog. Not sure what brand that is but it works great. it's a cool mist humidifier.

So Ann has a cold *plus* once we start putting on the heat in the house, it will be extremely DRY ... do i need cool mist or warm or both (if there's such a thing?)????

Yes there is a difference between cool mist and warm mist but Im sorry to say I dont know what it is! All I know is that I talked to the ped and he said that we should always use a cool mist. Don't know why.

Our ped said the warm mist breeds bacteria, so never use it in DC's room. I didn't get a cold mist yet because I started researching and found how often you have to change the filter.

I have the Crane cool mist humidifiers- in a frog shape for DS and a pig shape for DD. They work great.

Re: Recommend your humidifer for baby's room
My ped. recommended a warm mist humidifier. That's what we use. It can get muggy in the room but it really clears our DD's congestion and helps her sleep. We only use it when she's sick. We have the Vicks Germ Free Humidifier. It's about $90 in BRU.
