Recommend your mattress please!!

We're going to Sleepy's this weekend to check out some mattresses - any recs? We're looking for a king. Neither of us has back problems... We love the memory foam but can't afford.... Hoping to keep the price under $800..is that not gonna happen?

Any recs? Thanks!!

Re: Recommend your mattress please!!

i would say thats probably a stretch!...especially for a king....depends wht your willing to downgrade on..there are different springs...metal or wood frames...etc....we just got a new mattress in may and i did get a better one because of a bad back but even on sale a queen pillowtop laura ashley serta ran us almost $1199.....you can go to places like bj's or sams club if you were lookingfor a king size with decent features andthey always have greaet sales......for me i wanted a reputible name....

Unless they're having a crazy sale, than you're going to be spending more than $800 on a King.

We just bought a Queen and it was originally $1200 (we got it for 50% off bc of one of those crazy sales). It's a Serta pillow top... I don't know the exact model but it's pretty damn cozy! I'll find out what model it is and let you know.

Re: Recommend your mattress please!!

we got the Simmons BeautyRest Shakespeare Collection Montague from Sleepys for our house.

I friggin LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE my bed.

ETA: I have no idea if it's possible to keep it under $800.

we did get a nice Kingsdown full size mattress for our guest room for $450 so it could be possible....but if you are looking for mattress and boxspring...you should be prepared to pay a little more.

you may not have back problems, but you don't want any either

OK - great. Mattresses are more than $800 - closer to $1500 then?

Either way - please keep the recs coming!

Ophelia - how much did you pay for yours? If you don't mind me asking - a ballpark would be great! Thanks!

i dont know if you will find a king for under $800.00

About 2 yrs ago we bought a king size bed( MAttress and box spring), the brand was king koil and it was almost $2000.00

You might be able to get a sleepys brand bed for less money, but i dont think they are as good of a mattress

I don't mind. we got a QUEEN and it was a little over $1600 with the box spring.

they had another that I liked that was a little cheaper the Park Ave Hotel Collection...it may have been about $200 cheaper and was very good too.

I just liked the Montague slightly more...and it being Shakespeare sealed the deal (I am in love with him Chat Icon Chat Icon )

I will say that I checked the 1800matress showroom first and found the prices AND the service to be slightly better at sleepys.

I had a fantastic experience with sleepys and I would buy from them in the future.

go to the store with an open mind and lay on everything, then narrow it down. have fun and good luck.
