Recommend your powder face bronzer

I have very light skin, so I don't want anything too dark.

I just spent an hour in Sephora and came out empty handed!

Thanks!!

Bare Mineral Soft Focus Warmth. (Not the regular Warmth.) I'm very fair & it's the only thing that didn't make me look dirty. Chat Icon

Re: Recommend your powder face bronzer

I'm very pale and powders I found look cakey on me. Instead I like to use the bronzer lotion by Victorias Secret and mix it w/ my tinted moisturizer. Then I follow up w/ the large Sephora brand bronzer, but just not all over my face.

Re: Recommend your powder face bronzer

If you are pale, I would opt for Nars Laguna, not Nars Casino. Nars Casino will be too dark and you'll look like you threw dirt on your face, rather than glow.

I am the bronzing powder queen! I've tried pretty much every different kind out there. I like a natural glow, nothing cake on.

Others that I've tried and liked are

Benefit Hoola
Urban Decay baked bronzer
Sugar Bronzer

Also, if you're going to use a bronzer, be sure to pick up a good blush (Nars ****** is the best and it compliments all skin tones). The blush will accentuate the bronzer and make it look more natural.

There's another one that I've been using that I bought at my tanning salon but I have to get the name of it for you.

Really? One thing that I've noticed is that I cannot sweep on bronzer unless I have put on a transclusent powder as a base. I think that being that I have combo skin, the bronzer adheres to it and make me look dirty. lol

Lol- I hear on on the dirty thing--if it's not well blended. . .Chat Icon
I think that's why mineral powders work for me --they blend well. I haven't used Hoola in a while, but the color seemed very flat--I probably needed to combine with blush like you said, but I wasn't as make-up savvy back then. Chat Icon

LOL I hate that dirty look! Alot of girls sport that and think they look cute! NOT!

I usually apply concealer under my eyes first and then use Paula Dorf's transluscent powder all over my face and then I dust the bronzer and then the blush. If I'm going out at night or for an event, I'll then reapply the bronzer over the blush and then re-blush. it looks nice.

I've used the cheapie Jane mineral line and her bronzer is good too! very light. I need to get you all the name of the new one I have been using. it's great. so light. very natural looking. you can make yourself darker just by applying more of it.

I use the Guerlain. I love it, but it's pricey (and it just broke on me)

I'd love a cheaper alternative though.

I have the Nars ****** & Laguna duo set so I guess I just have to play around with it.

What type of brush are you using for the bronzer?

I just got a new bronzer brush. It's by Sugar (I got it at Ulta). I love it. It doesn't pick up alot of the bronzer, so it give you a nice finish. also def try using a good translucent powder first. I feel that it gives me a better and more natural finish. I've been using Paula Dorf's and it's fantastic.

I'm pretty fair skinned and I've been using Chanel's bronzer. It gives me a nice warm glow without making me look orange or dirty.

Re: Recommend your powder face bronzer

OK - just got back from Sephora (again!).

I think I looked at and tried on most of the bronzers there! Chat Icon

Guerlain - more expensive than I wanted to spend.

Nars Laguna - still too dark for me... Chat Icon

Benefit Hoola - dark

Stila #1 - looked slightly orangey on me

After speaking with two sales people, I ended up with Tarte - Park Avenue Princess (highly pearled light yellow gold)

Mineral Powder Bronzer
It's so hard to attain the sun-burnished glow of the girl who summers on the East Hampton-Palm Beach-St. Bart's circuit, without submitting your skin to the harmful rays of the sun. These luxe bronzers comes pretty close from bronzed goddess to a tawny glow - simply sweep on these sexy bronzers anytime, anywhere.

Has anyone ever used this one? It's lighter than a lot of them, but I'm worried it looks too yellow?
