recommend your wireless router

We just inherited a new laptop (a Dell Lattitude D820) and we are trying to set up our wireless network and realized our router is ancient (its an old D-Link wireless-b). I am looking to go get a new router and have no clue. Does anyone have the Netgear Range Max 240? I was thinking of getting a Linksys WRT54G Wireless-G. Any reviews?

And has anyone gone with Wireless-N? I read not so good review so I was just wondering.

Oh, one last question? Do the newer routers have a USB port in them? The one I have doesn't and I couldn't even figure out how to configure the secrity on it without one (following the wirelss network setup on my laptop).

TIA!

Linksys WRT54G Wireless-G. Any reviews?

TIA!

I have this one, never had a problem with it. All the config is done thru a web browser when you are connected to the device (either via ethernet cable or wireless), so there is no need to connect via USB.

I had a Netgear a while back, and suddenly it just stopped working. Dead, for no good reason. I reset it to the base config and redid the whole thing but no luck. I'll never buy a Netgear anything again, and thats bad for them since I'm a network engineer and recommend products and solutions all the time!

I work in I.T. and my co-worker that sets them up for others all the time always recommends the Buffalo because it is so easy. just plug & play basically.
