Reco's for knee dr in Manhattan
Does anyone have a recommendation for a knee dr in NYC who takes insurance? I know a good one but he no longer accepts insurance 
I somehow messed up my knee (which has always given me problems) in total body conditioning class
TIA!!

Dr. Rose out of the Hospital for Special Surgery...he did my ACL surgery and worked on my friends too...he is awesome

That is a great place.
I had to go there as well - they find you a doctor that takes your insurance in the even that a Dr. you want to see doesn't.
They save my dad's life there with his RA.

My husband used Dr Robert Marx at the Hospital for Special Surgery. He said he searched for "the best knee surgeon" in the country and his name came up 
Dh had the trifecta of knee repair- meniscus, ACL reconstruction and a tendon replacement. He was swinging his golf club after 6 weeks and playing/walking 18 holes (about 4 miles) of golf in 4 months (although he wasn't supposed to)
1. anesthesia at HSS does not accept insurance. Our insurance did end up paying for some - we paid $800/3800.
2. get the ice machine. I truly think it helped DH's recovery. It's a cuff that ices the whole knee - so much easier than using ice packs.

Not anyone off-hand there, but I definitely recommend going to the Hospital for Special Surgery.

I just read this now. OMG, that is crazy!! I don't think my issue is as severe, but you never know till you look inside. I have had two surgeries already on my one knee so I'm very nervous about what he's got to say. That recovery is pretty good for all those surgeries at once. I'll keep the ice machine in mind if it comes to that. Thank you!
