recurrent miscarriage testing
the results are NOT in, but today the dr said if this is not a viable pregnancy, he will do some tests. this will be my second chem preg - first being natural
So what do I have to look forward to?
We have both had full chromosone (SP) workups and we're normal in that sense

Re: recurrent miscarriage testing
When I had that done it was just bloodwork. All the chromosomal stuff and some other big words I can't spell or remember.
They took 14 vials though!

Re: recurrent miscarriage testing
I recently bought the book "Preventing Miscarriage" by Dr. Jonathan Scher.
There is some very interesting information in the book. Some of it way over my head. I did book a consult with him for November but he is really expensive to see (800.00 plus the cost of testing ) and my insurance won't cover it.
I also just had a D&C and hope to learn more information from the tissue testing. I know a few of the ladies also go to the Beer Institute (Dr. Alan Beer)
When I spoke with my RE he felt that immunilogical testing was so very new that there was not enough data to support the cost. However, he did not disuade me from it.
I wish you the best of luck!

Re: recurrent miscarriage testing
I too, am in the same boat. I was just diagnosed homozygous for the MTHFR gene-this means that my blood clots too much. It can cause chemical pregnancies because the embryo never gets the correct blood supply because your blood is clotting. I just got a prescription or Lovenox and a multi vitamin that contains B6, B12 and folic acid
