red "rash" on scrotum that won't go away?
DS is almost 14 months old and had a VERY bad diaper rash about 3 weeks ago. at the same time, he got a very red "rash" on his scrotum--i figured it was diaper rash.
the diaper rash cleared up but the "rash" hasn't. it's doesn't bother him at all, is flat (not raised) and just ugly looking.
i've been putting off going to the ped because i assume it's from either the heat/perspiration/diaper rubbing, but it's been almost 3-4 weeks now.
anyone else's son have this? it's not getting worse, but it's not getting better.

ETA - Are they swollen at all?

not swollen at all. i've been putting triple paste or butt cream on it when i change his diaper.
anyone else have any ideas?

I'd take him to the doctor. After this amount of time, I think they should look at it.
We had something like that a while back and happened to have a well visit at the time. The doctor said it looked like a yeast-type infection and wasn't going to go away with diaper creme, so we got a prescription creme to take care of it. It was gone in a day or two.

its ONLY on the scrotum??? NO where else in that areas?
SOunds strange... I would bring him to the ped if its localized to that area. I wouldn't want to risk an infection in there causing some type of damage...

My DS had that and I was told it was yeast. You'll need a prescription if that is it.

Yeast doesn't usually stay localized to just on area, but anything is possible!

Same here, he had a little redness on the scrotum and another spot on his butt but it did stay loacilized to those spots.

yeah, it's only the scrotum. that's why i thought it was part of the diaper rash because they all happened at the same time, but the diaper rash on his butt went away and this stayed.
i'm going to call the ped on friday or tomorrow.
