Red Sangria

Looking for an easy simple red Sangria recipe. Besides red wine and fruit what else do I use? Also what kind of red wine should I use?

Re: Red Sangria

There are so many variations but here's an easy recipe:

1 Bottle of red wine
1 Lemon cut into wedges
1 Orange cut into wedges
2 Tbsp sugar
1 Shot brandy
2 Cups gingerale or club soda

Pour wine in the pitcher and squeeze the juice wedges from the lemon and orange into the wine. Toss in the fruit wedges (leaving out seeds if possible) and add sugar and brandy. Chill overnight. Add ginger ale or club soda just before serving.

*for the wine you can use Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon or Shiraz

1 bottle red wine
1 shot brandy (we like to blackberry)
1 shot peach schnapps
1 can of sprite (or other lemonlime soda)
1 cute up apple
1 can of cut up peaches & the juice (really makes it fruity!)
1/2 orange, sliced

i tend to mix up the fruute depending on what i have... sometimes limes, etc.

I don't measure Chat Icon

for red sangria, I cut up a 2 oranges, 2 apples, and 2 limes. I set that in a bowl and pour cherry brandy and apple rum till it baths the fruit.

I mix one 750ml bottle of red wine (I like Concha y Toro. Inexpensive and dry) with some orange juice and some sprite, to taste.

let the fruit soak up the alcohol for a while, then add to the wine mixture and serve over ice. Chat Icon

ETA: mine is not sweet. it's just sweet enough and fortified. Chat Icon I don't like overly sweet sangrias at all.
