Re: References ?
Do you have any friends who are teachers? They would make a great personal reference.

Re: References ?
I personally wouldn't (and didn't) use friends as personal references UNLESS they knew me in a work setting and they were my boss or supervisor or something. Choose someone who can be a great judge of character and someone who has something positive to offer - not just, "so and so is a great person".
ETA: Make your reference aware that you used his/her name PRIOR to being called by the prospective employer. You want them to be prepared for the call and not caught off-guard.

Re: References ?
yep, Ive told my three professors (who are at high levels at the college ) and theyre ready and Ive mailed them LOR forms. Theyve also given me typed up letters in the past, but this district does it this way (the form).
But for the personal, I just wasnt sure if a friend was TOO personal and not appropriate... Yes, I have a few teacher friends and Im thinking of some others I can ask too. just wanted to get an idea of what was most appropriate.
thanks!

Re: References ?
For my first job I used...
cooperating teacher Asst. principal of the high school I subbed at and a few former teachers of mine who I subbed for
Yes, I subbed at my alma mater
I think I did the same for my second job as my first job was a private school and I couldn't tell them I was looking for another job.

Re: References ?
bumping this because I have another question about Letters of Recommendation.
I wasnt aware that you can copy them and reuse them. for some reason, I thought it had to be original. but I guess it makes sense to be able to copy them, or you'd be asking someone to write a letter for every application.
Am I correct in this? did you just copy your letters of reference and have a batch for each application?
If they say 3, do you give more if you have them?
thanks!
