refrigerator/freezer question
So, last night, DH and I came home after being out of the house for about 15 hours to discover that one of us did not close the freezer well that morning. All of our food was defrosted, including a lot of Kosher meat, which is expensive! I was very upset b/c we just went shopping and filled the freezer. We must have thrown out about $100 worth of food!
Anyhow, I just went into the fridge to get a class of milk, and my unopened milk, with an expiration date of 8/8, was completely spoiled! Did leaving the freezer open affect the food in my fridge too? It is a very basic model, that comes with the apartment, and only has one temperature control for both. Should I be getting rid of the food in my fridge too? Thanks!

Re: refrigerator/freezer question
Jax, is 8/8 the NYC expiration date, or the other one? I know you are in Queens and usually NYC date is earlier....

Re: refrigerator/freezer question
I mix that up sometimes, so I wouldn't throw everything out, just based on the milk....
