Reliable site for value of homes?

Is there a site that will give you reliable information on the value of homes in a particular area over a certain pd of time?
I have noticed that Zillow doesn't always give the most accurate info.

TIA

Zestimates are terrible. Please don't rely on them.

I don't know of any site that gives accurate and complete comparable sales.

Real estate agents can pull that kind of market data off of our MLS system (how many properties sold in a given area in a given time period, average sale price, median sale price, average days on market, etc.). I could send you a list of all properties that sold within a given area and a given time period, so you see each house and each sale price.

Also, consulting with an agent has an added benefit - Not only can we provide complete and accurate data, but we can interpret that data for you in a way that a website can't (for example, realtors have often seen the comp homes and can make better judgments about what's truly comparable; we also have a sense of market trends).

I know we've spoken offline, so feel free to email me or call me if you want me to pull some info for you.

Re: Reliable site for value of homes?

In this market the only way you are going to get an accurate value is either through a realtor's CMA or an actual appraisal.

I applied for a HELOC and the banks "online" appraisal appraised my house at 445k. A total joke and they wanted to charge me to pay for a drive by appraisal.

My house is worth about 700-750k. I eventually got them to eat the cost for a real appraisal. The drive by appraisal came in over 200k higher than the online. If I had a full appraisal done with a property sale, probably would have came close to 300k higher.
